v 4.20

Greeting, plant parents! This updates brings you an improved at-a-glance task history chart. This new design fits more days on the screen, helping you identify patterns and trends on the things you do.

In plant profiles, we re-worked how you may configure a task: tap the next due date button to snooze or reschedule the task; tap repeat button to change repeat interval or start/stop repeating the task entirely.

Also included are some bug fixes and code clean-up:
* A layout issue with tasks in To-do List might cause text to be truncated or invisible. Fixed.
* For PlantPal Pro members, the app might not properly remember which Site you were last using. Fixed.
* Operations on plants, tasks, task history might not save properly in certain pages in the app. Fixed.
* For PlantPal Pro members who use Work Days, auto-snooze did not properly suggest a longer period of time for low-frequency tasks, and would always auto-snooze to the next Work Day. Fixed.
* We refactored our code base so that it’s more robust. We also removed some code that caused crashes and wasn’t contributing to a great user experience.

Hope you’ll enjoy this update! As always, we look forward to your feedback and suggestions.

v 4.7.1

Version 4.7.1 fixed an issue that prevented photo from loading in Widgets.

Previously—

Greetings, plant parents! Version 4.7 brings you “Work Days”, a new feature that brings more sanity to plant care tasks.

#### Work Days ####

Select days of week when you want to get more done with your plants. PlantPal intelligently suggests tasks that will due shortly and adds them to your to-do list.

Over time, your care tasks will predominantly show up on your Work Days. On other days of the week, you will more likely get the entire day off when you don’t have to worry anything about your plants.

If you have been using Suggested Tasks in previous versions: PlantPal will select your Work Days for you when you upgrade. However, you may change your Work Days settings at any time.

Work Days is a premium feature that requires PlantPal Pro membership.

#### Optimized To-do List ####

Along with Work Days, we reworked our data model that powers your to-do list. Even with hundreds of plants in your garden, your to-do list is now much more responsive and power-efficient.

Also, we are marking suggested tasks in to-do list with a lighter coloured tint.

Finally, snoozing is a lot more smarter. If you have Work Days enabled, snoozing may intelligently snooze until to the next Work Day.

#### Misc & Bug Fixes ####

* You can now hide a photo from the photo widgets. This can be handy if you want to hide some photos that don’t spark joy.
* “Other Tasks” are not collapsed properly sometimes. Fixed.
* App did not properly remember the site you last visited. Fixed.
* CloudKit sync might cause the app to crash. Fixed.
* App might quietly crash when in the background. Fixed.

We hope you’ll enjoy this version! If you have any suggestions or feedback, please feel free to reach out.

v 4.2.2

Greetings, plant parents! Version 4.2 brings some under-the-hood updates for the data model, so the app now runs more reliably.

The update to the model change also enabled better backup and restore experience:

- You can now create a backup file, manage the file, and restore your entire data from the backup
- Backup files no longer take up your iCloud space when you have iCloud backup enabled
- Temporary files are now purged when you close the app, reducing PlantPal’s space footprint
- PlantPal Pro is no longer required to restore your data from a backup

We believe in users’ data ownership, and that’s why PlantPal has always had data export since Version 1. Now by making backup free to restore from, we are one step closer to that ideal : )

Also in this version:

- You no longer have to create a site and a room before adding you plants
- A new “My Plants” view to see all your plants (except archived) in one place
- Free users no longer have access to organization tools such as rooms, groups or sites. If you have a lot of plants and can benefit from better organization, we invite you to try PlantPal Pro
- PlantPal Pro users on iOS 15 can now filter tasks by due date using the menu in To-do list, as well as set a default for when you launch the app. (This feature was made available to iOS 16 users since Version 4.0.)
- We fixed a few localization issues throughout the app

v 3.12

Greetings, plant parents. Version 3.12 is a minor update that does three things:

1. It adds a progress bar in the To-do List. When you have a long list of to-dos, this will come in handy, helping you track progress.

2. It paves the road for upcoming iOS releases. We moved around code and redid some structures. The app now runs more efficiently as a result.

3. It crushed a few bugs around the To-do List, as well as other parts of the app.

Hope you’ll enjoy this update! As always, any feedback and suggestions are welcomed—please feel free to reach out.

v 3.10

Version 3.10 allows you to submit a missing plant to the catalogue. We will use submitted information to periodically add missing plants, or improve the accuracy on existing ones.

When submitting a plant, the app will send your search keyword to our server. Along with it is a random Session ID that resets every time the app launches. Session ID is not tied to your membership status, your iCloud account or your device ID. It helps us audit the validity of the submitted information. When you submit the keyword via "Care Notes", the name (and secondary nickname) will also be uploaded. Information is retained up to 40 days on our server.

No other information is shared in this process. No photo or image is ever uploaded.

If you have PlantPal Pro membership, you will be able to show all care tasks in a plant (or in a plant group), even those that aren’t due yet. This way, you can see what’s coming up for your plants when you water them and help you plan ahead.

#### iCloud Sync Status ####

Starting this version, iCloud sync status can be checked in Preferences tab. Rest assured when you know your data is synced to the cloud, or know that it’s still in progress downloading stuff to a new device.

#### UI and bug fixes ####

* Changes to a photo caption might not be properly saved. Fixed.
* Labels in care note page were not properly localized to English. Fixed.

We hope you enjoy this update. As always, we welcome any feedback or suggestions—keep them coming in the email!

v 2.4

Greetings, plant parents. Version 2.4 brings you some enhancements to the app, making it easier to navigate and more pleasant to use.

#### Group plants right in the plant list ####
Now you can group your plants directly in the plant list page, and you can easily update plant selections in an existing group—just in time for spring planning (or planting) and re-organization!

To create a new group, tap “•••” beside the room name, and choose “Add Group”. You will be able to pick ungrouped plants in the same room to group them, and you can give the new group a name.

To update an existing group, tap the row of the group and select “Update Selections”. You will be able to remove plants from this group or add new ones.

Note that using groups to organize plants is a premium feature, and it requires PlantPal Pro membership.

#### UI improvements ####
* Checkboxes in to-do list now have a larger tappable area. Now it’s a lot easier to check off the tasks you have completed.
* If you leave the name blank for a property, a room, a plant group or a plant, the app now handles unnamed stuff more elegantly.

#### Bug fixes ####
* Group row didn’t properly update when the group is given a new name. Fixed.
* The plant picker (when multi-selection is enabled) might show a checkmark in plant groups where none of the plants in the group is available for selection. Fixed.
* In plant details page, the zoom-in animation had issues when trying to preview the cover image. Fixed.

#### Misc ####
This version also contains minor invisible improvements, laying the ground work for future updates.

Hope you’ll enjoy this update! As always, feel free to reach out for any questions, suggestions or feedback.

v 2.0.1

Version 2.0.1 fixed an issue with in-app purchases. Previously—

Version 2.0 brings PlantPal to iPad! And did we mention iCloud sync support since Version 1.7? Now your plant’s care info is available wherever you go.

### On to the big screen ###

When we say iPad support, we mean it. Any other app developer would tick “Support iPad” and be done with it, but not us!

PlantPal utilizes a triple-column layout on the iPad, making it easier to navigate between the many properties you have, or to track your outstanding tasks. You can also bring PlantPal side-by-side with any other app, such as Calendar or Notes.

For existing iPhone users—you should not notice a change at all, and that’s the goal!

### UI Improvements ###

We put our efforts into a few serious improvements. You’ll notice a header as you scroll down your plant’s info page. Some non-tappable stuff no longer appear tappable in the list of tasks.

There’s also a Welcome message when you launch PlantPal on a device for the first time. It helps you set up your first plant, or prompt you to wait for data to download from iCloud.

Plus, there’s a few localization fixes throughout the app. And a few bug fixes that used to crash the app, or leave information stale unless you manually intervene. Now the app should look and feel much more polished.

### Add more plants to care for ###

Starting with Version 2.0, you can add as many plants as you want. With a PlantPal Pro membership, you can track all care tasks in addition to watering. We hope this change brings it in line with how you use PlantPal, and when you’re ready to get more serious about home gardening, you can track all tasks that are important to the plants’ health and growth.

### Thank you ###

PlantPal would not be here without your support. We’d like to thank you for all the kind 5-star reviews, and all the feedback and suggestions. We have more features planned for all the Apple platforms—stay tuned!

As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or feedback.
