Description

Dato gives you a local clock, date, multiple world clocks, and upcoming events in the menu bar. When you click Dato in the menu bar, you get a menu with a calendar, calendar events, and world clocks. All of this is highly customizable.

It's a one-time purchase with free upgrades forever. Dato will never be subscription-based. There is a free trial on the app's website.

■ FAQ

〉 The app does not show up in the menu bar

macOS hides menu bar apps when there is no space left in the menu bar. Try quitting some menu bar apps to free up space.

〉 Can you add support for Google Calendar?

It's already supported. Just add your Google calendars to the Calendar app and then enable the calendars in the Dato settings.

Great app

After Fantastical went down the drain I needed something to replace it.

If you are looking for a menu bar calendar that allows you to

1) see at a glance what days you have something scheduled on what calendar (personal, work, shared work...)

2) Easily add events to your calendar(s) (global shortcut or single click)

3) See all your upcoming events for the day

4) Have your next appointment displayed in the menubar so you don't even have to click anything or have anything open on your desktop

5) Join next online meetings (within next 15 mins) with a global shortcut)

6) Easily calculate with a time slider what time it will be in your time and any other timezones for future meeting planning.

I'm sure there's more that I'm missing. Like the hourly chime. I enabled it out of curiosity, but it turned out to be useful to me.

Great no-subscription required app. Thanks!

edit Jun 24, 2022: Loving version 4 (which I didn't have to re-purchase the app for - thanks!)

attaboyBrad ,

With Dato, I've escaped the carousel of not-quite-right calendar apps...

Dato is exactly what I need in a calendar utility, 98% of the time I need a calendar app. It shows up instantly, keeps the information I need next close at hand, and lets me make quick adjustments seamlessly.

After finding Dato I finally stopped switching between the several promising but not-quite-right Mac calendar apps I was torn between.

Dato is so good I actively went looking to discover the developer's other apps and now also rely on Pure Paste, Command-X, and System Color Picker.

Must Buy! Replaces multiple apps for me

There's SO mcuh more to this app than meets the eye. I would consider this app so essential that it would be one of the FIRST apps that I'd install on a fresh MacBook. This app that helped me uninstall a couple other apps as well and find better alternatives to others. The developer is responsive.

This app provides me with a - 1) Calendar View 2) Meetings List 3) Shortcut to join meetings 4) Hourly Chime 5) World Clocks 6) Countdown to next meeting 7) Extreme customization
