Description

Track your distance to the destination on lock screen using Live Activities!

Glarm is a simple app used for one single purpose - creating Location-based Alarms!

If you're like me and you travel a lot by train, or bus you might not always recognize railway stations or tell quickly how far is your stop, so you start nervously checking the time and position on the map.

With Glarm you can set alarm to ring, let's say 30 kilometres from your destination and in the meantime, take a nap, or watch a movie without worrying about missing the stop. You can also add custom note to an alarm, or add it to favourites for easy access in the future.

Glarm does not track your location outside of the app, iOS does that in the background which results in minimal battery consumption and keeps your privacy safe.

What’s New

Version 3.1

• Support for Live Activities on iOS 16.2 and newer
After scheduling an alarm you can keep track of it on your lock screen in real time.
Live Activities only work when Glarm is granted access to your location in "Always" mode. This is necessary because the activities have to be updated in background by app and the only way to keep it alive in the background is to constantly monitor your location.
If you don't want to use Live Activities you can choose to only allow "While in use" location tracking mode.

• Search for alarms
In "Alarms" screen you can now use a search bar to quickly find any previously scheduled alarm.
You can search by name of the location or by contents of notes.

If you enjoy using Glarm please consider writing a short review in the App Store.

Great, and could be even better

Wonderful app that seems to be as reliable as can be.

The critical functionality that this app lacks is the ability to schedule a repeating alarm.

I believe this could be accomplished by adding Shortcuts support. This way, users can make a shortcuts automation to schedule an alarm.

I wonder if the developer can add this in for us?

Thanks for making the app!

Thanks for your review!
I’m already working on new update that will include the option to set repeating alarm without using Siri shortcuts, although those could definitely enhance the app a lot!

Nice start!

Neat app. Really like the idea, and am excited to see what new uses for it I come up with (beyond the ones I already have in mind).

Some suggestions for future releases: please add the ability to choose

- custom text that appears in the notification when the location perimeter is reached
- any sound from the user’s ringtones as the alarm
- whether the alarm should go off either as the location is reached or when it is departed from (or both)
- whether the alarm should be a one-time alarm or ring every time the location perimeter is crossed

Also, it would be nice to have a visual indication of the size of the perimeter when choosing the perimeter radius.

Neat idea, just needs more tuning

Great idea as many have said. But really needs fine control. I want to be able quickly and easily set an alarm when I go into a building, a house, a business, a store. Even the smallest area I can set requires multiple zoom in steps and an inaccurate slider that still sets something too large.

Let me drop a pin and set a default 25’ around the pin and leave it at that. Quick. Easy.

Add categories for alarms, along with default settings for distance and sound.

Good app thought, can only get better.

PS. I’ve been using since first version and features aren’t unlocked. No big deal, I’ll be buying it when it gets better.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for the suggestions! I admit that in current state the app is better suited for longer distances but I’ll see how I can provide better control over setting desired distance
Categories sound like definitely useful addition
